Atalanta's 2024/25 Kits
The Day Has Finally Arrived! Introducing the new Atalanta home and away jerseys for the upcoming campaign!
Eagerly awaited every single year, fans wait patiently to see what their heroes will be wearing for the new domestic season & throughout their European journey! Let’s dive into what our La Dea will be sporting on Italian and European pitches this season!
Home Shirt
Blue and black have been the colours worn by La Dea dating back all the way to the 1920s. Unsurprisingly, no shocking change here. Blue represents, stability, inspiration, and wisdom, whilst black stands for elegance and power - subsequently giving Atalanta the nickname “the Nerazzurri” (the black and blues). This year’s edition is simple, traditional and certainly eye catching, it has thicker black stripes, six to be precise, and doesn’t try to be too busy.
However, what is different is a brand new shirt sponsor, one already well known to Serie A fans. Acqua Lete or just simply Lete, once worn by former champions Napoli, is sneaking into San Pellegrino’s territory bringing their famous sparkling water up north.
The secondary sponsor, Bergamo’s own “RADICI GROUP,” reprises its role on the chest, having recently just had the partnership extended with the club for another year. It made its debut on the shirts in 2017 and has been a fixture ever since.
Central badges have been a more common theme across Europe in recent years. Atalanta is no different and is maintaining the tradition of keeping the clubs crest central, a classic look that compliments the shirt very well. One notable change to the new shirt is that it has returned to a round crew neck collar. This is a good choice on the design front in my opinion, as I don’t think an open collar (like last season’s shirt) would work with this.
Another nice detail is the clubs name and city are written on the back just below the collar line. It may only be a small detail, but it really adds a touch of class and finishes the shirt off beautifully. The shirt will be worn with traditional black shorts & socks. Both jerseys are once again produced by Spanish sports clothing brand Joma, with whom the club has a deal with running through until 2025.
I have never been a massive fan of red and blue being used together to be honest… if the sponsor was white, it may have looked a bit better in my opinion. But overall, it’s not too bad maybe the sponsor is just a little too big!
Away Shirt
For many years now the default colour the club has chosen for its away shirt is white, and that trend is going to continue. It’s easy to see why the colour is used. It’s a good colour to avoid causing a kit clash, and also, it’s considered a “safe.”
Four different colours are used in this shirt, some may say there is too much colour, but I think it looks good. Once again maybe the colour of the sponsor could be changed maybe, but I think the red looks better on this jersey compared to the home.
The blue and black stripes along the chest are a nice touch, showcasing the clubs traditional home colours with the badge blending into them nicely. Adding the blue and black into their away shirts is something the club has done for several years now, and it’s nice to see it being continued. They have kept it consistent, using the same pallet for the, rounded collar, the sleeve cuffs and lastly the black stripes being featured under the arms.
Pricing
Both shirts are available to purchase now, priced at a reasonable (£73,91/$95.09/ €87,71) on the official club website. That price is for the standard un-customised jersey. However, if you wish to either make it your own, or get your favourite player on the back and choose to add the Serie A shoulder patches, it bumps the price up to a whopping (£105,21/$135.36/€124,82) - without some hefty shipping costs!
Mixed Feelings About The Shirts…
Just like with anything in life there are people that like things and there are those who don’t… With football shirts being a big topic, they are very important to supporters. Fans work hard and spend their hard-earned money to support their teams, and show their love. Kits are the ultimate way for them to display this. I posed the question to my twitter followers, asking them for their opinions on the new jerseys. Here are a few responses I got back take a look…
As you can see very mixed opinions on the latest shirts. I always enjoy it when things are split, it can lead to fun and interesting discussions and that’s a beautiful thing. Which is something I enjoy and embrace.
